Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FictionHive Games at games.fictionhive.com, including our articles, browser games, community features, credit rewards, AI assistant and any related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

• You may browse most content without an account. Some features (commenting, favorites synced across devices, leaderboards, challenges, credits, submitting articles and some games) require you to sign up with an email address or Google account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
• You may hold one account. Creating multiple accounts to farm credits, referrals, reactions or leaderboard positions is prohibited.
• Your display name, avatar and profile must not impersonate others, infringe rights, or contain offensive content. We may change or remove names that violate these rules.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and you may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Articles, reviews, images, videos, logos, the FictionHive name and the design of the Service are owned by FictionHive or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes.

You may share links to our content using the share tools we provide. You may not copy, republish, scrape, sell or create derivative works from our content without written permission, except for brief quotations with attribution and a link back to the source.

"User Content" means anything you post or submit, including comments, reactions, ratings, game reviews, profile details, and article submissions written through the Write page.

• You keep ownership of your User Content. By posting it you grant FictionHive a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable licence to host, display, reproduce, edit for length or clarity, distribute and promote it as part of the Service and our social channels.
• Article submissions are reviewed by our editors. We may approve, edit, reject or later unpublish a submission at our discretion. Approved articles are published under the author name you provide and may be edited by our staff; editorial history is kept privately.
• You represent that you own or have the rights to your User Content, that it is accurate where it states facts, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or violate any law.
• We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we consider harmful, without notice.

To keep FictionHive welcoming, you agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory or that targets someone based on protected characteristics.
• Spam, advertise, post affiliate links of your own, or flood comments, reactions or ratings.
• Share spoilers without clear warning where our community guidelines request it, or post others’ personal information.
• Manipulate rankings: vote-brigading, buying or trading reactions, mass-liking your own comments, or coordinating fake reviews.
• Upload malware, attempt to access other accounts, probe or overload our systems, or bypass rate limits, sign-in requirements or content restrictions.
• Use bots, scrapers or automated tools to access the Service or its APIs without permission.

• Games in the Arcade are provided by FictionHive or third-party developers and are embedded for entertainment. Some games require you to sign in.
• Scores, play sessions and save states may be recorded to power leaderboards, "continue playing" and daily challenges. Where a game does not report scores automatically, you may submit a score manually; you agree to submit only genuine results.
• Cheating, using modified game clients, memory editors, macros or forged score submissions is prohibited. Scores are validated server-side and we may reject, remove or reset any score, leaderboard entry or challenge reward we believe to be invalid, and may suspend the account involved.
• Leaderboards, challenges and games may be changed, reset or removed at any time.

• Credits are virtual points awarded for activity on the Service such as signing up, verifying your email, completing your profile, daily logins, finishing articles, sharing, rating, commenting, completing challenges and referring friends. Amounts and eligible actions are set by us and may change without notice.
• Credits have no monetary value, cannot be purchased, exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts or redeemed outside the Service. They are a licence-based feature, not property.
• Credits can be spent only on in-site cosmetics (such as profile themes or badges). Purchases are final and cosmetics remain subject to these Terms.
• Referral rewards are granted only when a genuinely new person signs up through your link and logs in. Self-referrals and fake accounts forfeit rewards.
• We may adjust, cap, revoke or reset credits, streaks, ranks, badges and cosmetics to correct errors, address abuse, or when a feature is discontinued. Credits are forfeited if your account is terminated for violating these Terms.

The Hive Guide assistant answers questions using our published articles and games. Its answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete or incorrect; they are not professional advice and you should verify important information against the linked source. Guests have a limited number of messages per session. You may not use the assistant to generate abusive content, to extract our systems’ instructions, or for any purpose outside exploring the Service.

Some editorial workflows use AI tools to assist with drafting and formatting. All published articles remain the responsibility of our editorial team.

Some articles include product cards, deal listings and affiliate links. If you buy through these links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices, availability and deal end times are provided for information and can change; the retailer’s terms apply to any purchase. Affiliate relationships never influence our scores or recommendations.

The Service links to third-party websites, social networks and embedded games that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.

By creating an account you agree to receive transactional emails required to operate it (verification, password reset, security notices). You may also receive notifications when someone replies to your comment or reacts to your article; you can manage these in Settings where the option is available.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email us at the address below with the URL of the material, a description of the work, your contact details and a statement made in good faith that the use is not authorised. We will remove or disable access to infringing material and may terminate repeat infringers.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Reviews, scores, guides and hardware recommendations reflect our opinion and testing at the time of writing; game and hardware performance can vary. We do not guarantee that the Service, games, leaderboards or credits will be uninterrupted, error-free or preserved.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FictionHive and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost credits, lost profits or purchases made from third parties, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which is normally zero) or 50 USD. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FictionHive and its team from any claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination your licence ends and any credits, streaks, badges and cosmetics are forfeited. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive termination.

We are constantly improving the Service and may add, change or remove features, games, reward rules or content at any time. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date shows the current version and we will highlight significant changes on the site or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FictionHive is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and FictionHive regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
